We spent 3 nights here in one of the "Ridge" units. It was spotless and had been completely renovated in the past few years. Very comfortable beds and a full modern kitchen. Really nice place and well worth the nightly charge. The staff were fine, although we had little interaction with them due to the virus safety protocols, which of course we were fine with. The setting is gorgeous and very quiet at night. Great views to the east and of course the wonderful Parksville beach to walk on and out forever at low tide. We really enjoyed our time here and would stay again.
Awesome resort. Friendly staff and unbeatable location. Book early. You are paying for the location, not for room quality. The units are comfortable and clean but you are there to spend time outside… keep that in mind. We have stayed here every summer for 16 years. Love it!
Beautiful and satisfying experience at Madrona Beach Resort! We stayed in 16-A unit which we found spotless and very private, on arrival. Everything we needed was in the unit, all the pots and pans and utensils. We enjoyed our evenings sitting in the ocean view backyard with our propane fire pit , which we made sure was allowed. Weather was just perfect to watch the moonrise, at night, a truly surreal experience ! Loved the calm! Can’t wait to be back next time! Very nice and helpful staff. Good value for money.
The place is clean, staff are friendly, and the location is so, so beautiful. Nice grounds with two small playgrounds for the kids. I can't speak for all units but ours, number 29, was a bit cramped for our group of 8. There are beds in all the shared spaces so there is nowhere for people to hang out when others go to sleep. Same problem for the mornings when your children wake up at 6 and everyone else is sleeping in... One other small complaint is that there are no fans in the bathrooms. I would definitely come here again but with less people.
Great views! Off season pricing isn't horrible considering. Always find pubes somewhere when I visit. First time in the shower. This time in the bed sheets, the sheets were washed, but gross to see them.... Good thing I bring back-up sheets.
The kitchenette units were slightly lacking in counter space. Our toilet had a permanent ring around the bowl. The BBQs were dirty and operated in fits and spurts. But all that said, the view is lovely, units are generally spacious and the staff were helpful and cheerful with all of our requests. If you're looking for a budget friendly, family friendly resort getaway with well manicured lawns and so so sport facilities, then look no further than Madrona Beach Resort.
Lovely place but a little dated. Clean and well stocked kitchenette. It would be a good place for families as it is right next to the beach. There is a very nice mini-golf down the street. Quite close to a good selection of restaurants. Nothing to complain about for sure.
The location is great. Our room was on the upper level, just a few steps from the beach, nice outdoor grass to play with kids and have barbecues. The rooms are clean, comfortable and staff very friendly. It's our gateway tradition every year.
